Why we’ve invested in a CTS machine

Why we’ve invested in a CTS machine

Hey, have you seen our new toy? It came in a pretty big box, all the way from Detroit, USA and it’s a game changer. Welcome… to our new Computer To Screen or CTS imaging system.

The Computer to Screen (CTS) imaging system, has revolutionised the pre-press process and lifted the quality of our screen printing. Here's a closer look at why we've invested in a CTS machine.

Firstly, CTS machines produce more accurate and detailed prints by directly transferring digital images onto screens. This eliminates the need for traditional film transparencies, reducing human error, and providing more precise designs with high-resolution images. This leap in quality opens up new possibilities for us as screen printers to meet the growing demand for complex artwork.

Removing the need for film transparencies in our screen making process not only reduces material costs, but also eliminates a considerable amount of plastic from our production process, minimising waste and making our operation more sustainable. It’s a big step on our sustainability journey.

Secondly, the CTS machine streamlines the workflow by automating the imaging process. This makes it super easy to handle projects with quick turnaround times and improves our lead times. The automation offered by the CTS machine not only speeds up the pre-press process but also simplifies it, reducing the time required for screen preparation and easing the load of Josh in the dark room.

Thirdly, the CTS technology ensures that every screen is produced under the same conditions, providing consistency across prints. Digital files can be stored and retrieved for future reprints, ensuring that repeat orders are identical to the original run.

Although this is a considerable investment, we believe that investing in the CTS machine is a forward-thinking move for us. It not only enhances our current operations and sustainability goals but positions our screen printing business for future growth and prepares us to meet challenges and opportunities of the future head-on. 🚀
